Joyce Muchan is a human rights advocate. For over 25 years, she has been instrumental in developing student leadership through the lens of community-engaged learning at Cornell University. Through her social justice work, Joyce has been outspoken in addressing the harms of commercial sex markets. She established All Voices International to platform the voices of those who've been harmed by their proximity to the global sex trade. While recognizing that prostitution and sexual exploitation in all its forms harms those victimized first and foremost, she has aimed to also bring attention how harm extends to all those who are emotionally and socially connected to the exploited individual.
Joyce has served on several community boards and task forces including, Tompkins County Human Rights Commissioner, City of Ithaca Rental Housing Commissioner, Ithaca City School District Affirmative Action Committee, Ithaca City Drug Task Force, and Ithaca City Community, Police Conflict Management Task Force, Cornell Alumni Club of Ithaca, Member of Sphinx Head. Joyce is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She currently serves on the NYS Southern Tier Human Trafficking Task Force.
