World Without Exploitation - Youth Coalition

Stella began working with Katie Cappiello in 2015 as a performer in Cappiello's ensemble play A Day in the Life. The play powerfully dramatizes the true stories, verbatim from interviews, of the daily lives of sex trafficking survivors. Awakening audiences to these young girls’ horrors, it performed nationally to policy professionals and elected government representatives. In 2019, Stella interned at Sanctuary for Families, working on the New York State Equality Model legislative campaign and also assisting Sanctuary’s legal team as student survivors of interpersonal violence navigated the court system. After assisting in the organization of World Without Exploitation's 2nd and 3rd Annual Youth Summit, she is now a founding member of the World Without Exploitation's Youth Coalition, serving on the College Division Council. In addition to anti-sexual exploitation and gender-based violence policy, Stella's policy interests include income inequality, NYC tenant rights protections, and criminal justice reform. Stella FitzGerald is a junior at Yale University majoring in Politics and American Communities and is a Director's Fellow at the Yale Institute for Social and Policy Studies. (Stella would welcome any referrals for public policy or urban government internships for this coming summer.)
