Honorable Cristian Eduardo is a prominent advocate, speaker, and educator dedicated to advancing the rights of immigrants, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, and survivors of human trafficking. A queer Mexican immigrant and survivor living with HIV, his advocacy is profoundly shaped by lived experience, fueling his fight against stigma and systemic inequity.Appointed by the President, Hon. Cristian Eduardo serves as the Chair of the U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking, advising the President’s Interagency Task Force on federal policies. His work ensures anti-trafficking efforts are survivor-led and trauma-informed. Locally, he serves on the NYC HIV Planning Group to inform integrated prevention and care strategies. As an independent consultant, Hon. Cristian Eduardo provides training and technical assistance nationwide at the intersection of migration, trauma, and mental health. He holds leadership roles as a Survivor Leader at New Yorkers for the Equality Model and co-chair of the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition.A former mechanical engineer, Hon. Cristian Eduardo has received numerous honors, including the 2023 NJ Freedom Award and the 2025 Liberator Award Survivor of the Year. To maintain balance, he embraces his "inner nerd" by reading science journals, playing video games, and watching anime as essential self-care.
