Danielle Shapiro Lazarus

Experiential Team

Wasserman Media Group

Danielle Shapiro Lazarus has had a passion for helping others for as long as she can remember. It’s definitely not a coincidence or a surprise that her mother is Debbie Katz, who is also an event co-chair this year. For 25 years, Danielle watched her mom fight to improve the quality of HIV care and prevention education until it was Danielle’s turn to join the fight. Danielle worked at amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS research, for six years on the Special Events team, raising funds for innovative research to end the global AIDS epidemic. During her six years at amfAR, she oversaw the planning and execution of multiple domestic and international fundraising galas that raised anywhere from $50,000 to $35,000,000.

She’s danced for 46 hours straight to fight pediatric cancer, traveled to Haiti to establish sustainable solutions to poverty-related problems through education and microfinance programs, sent thousands and thousands of text messages and provided text bank training during the 2020 election, and is currently a core committee member on her DE&I council at Wasserman where Danielle currently works on the Experiential team. Most recently, for her 30th Birthday, during the height of Covid-19 in New York, Danielle raised funds from family and friends to donate 100 meals to Methodist Hospital. Knowing she could do more, she joined forces with Meals for Brooklyn Healthcare Heroes, organizing daily food deliveries to Interfaith Medical Center. Danielle is committed to furthering change and not only helping others but fighting for everyone to receive opportunities to better their lives. She’s just getting started and can’t wait to join World Without Exploitation in their fight for an exploitation-free world.
