Jewell Baraka

Jewell Baraka is the author of the book Coming of Age on a Porn Set: Trafficked in Porn at 14. Trafficked on an adult hardcore porn set at 14, Jewell found her way through and out of the script and character that was being written for her.

For nearly a decade, Jewell has been using her voice in advocacy as a writer, speaker, and trainer in the arena of sexual assault in its many forms, including trafficking in porn, sexual exploitation, and sexual abuse.

For the last five years, she has worked as an advocate for Journey Out, where she provides resources and support to trafficking survivors identified in Los Angeles hospitals, as well as training for hospital staff and law enforcement.

Jewell resides in Long Beach, California. She is a poet, an MMA enthusiast, a beach lover, and a seeker who has fought through the caverns of her own trauma to find a way forward into her own new day rising.
