Annie Farmer has repeatedly spoken out both about her own experiences of grooming and sexual abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and the failures of the justice department in their handling of the case in media outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, ABC News, and the Netflix series Filthy Rich. Her work educating others about sexual abuse began in 2003 at the Tundra Women's Coalition, where she collaborated with the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and Yupik youth from the community to create the film "Let's Talk About It" which explored issues related to IPV and sexual violence in teen relationships. She later received her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, completing a dissertation examining the systemic effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. She has had the privilege of working with survivors of several forms of sexual violence in multiple clinical settings, including VA hospitals, community counseling centers, and in the private practice she cofounded, Pivot Psychology Austin.
