Brooke Istook is a mother of three boys and one of the country's leading experts on how technology platforms fail to protect children. She has spent more than 12 years at the intersection of child safety, technology, and advocacy. As Chief Impact Officer at Heat Initiative and former Vice President at Thorn, she has advised major technology platforms, conducted youth-centered research, briefed government agencies worldwide, and helped build tools used by 12,000+ law enforcement investigators to identify child victims of exploitation. She has testified, convened, and campaigned to compel Big Tech to actually protect the children on its platforms. She holds a Master's in International Studies and a B.S. in Management Information Systems.
