Issue One

Isabel Sunderland advances legislation at the intersection of children’s online safety, platform design, Section 230, data privacy, and transparency, with the goal of holding powerful social media and artificial intelligence companies accountable to American democracy. She has advised Congress, the White House, the United Nations, and state governments. She is the policy lead for technology reform at Issue One, a leading bipartisan nonprofit dedicated to strengthening democracy and curbing Big Tech’s influence. In addition to her work at Issue One, Isabel leads federal policy for Design It For Us, a youth-led movement advocating for safer and more responsible technology platforms. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and Justice and Law from American University in Washington, D.C.
