Michigan
In Michigan, all aspects of the sex trade—whether selling sex, buying sex, promoting it, or profiting from it—are completely illegal. Michigan law treats both buying and selling sex the same, meaning a person can be charged with the same crime whether they're purchasing or providing sexual services. Michigan allows trafficking survivors to clear their criminal record – the underlying offense must be “proximately caused by” or “as a direct result of” being trafficked.
